Hinata Sugiyama (second-year student, Faculty of Environment and Information Studies), a member of Associate Professor Shohei Matsukawa's laboratory, has won the Grand Prize at the GL Competition 2025.
The GL Competition is a nationwide competition for first-year architecture students, organized by the student group Ground Level. This year, its second time being held, the theme was the four arithmetic operations: "+, -, ×, ÷". With over 100 entries from across the country, the work of Ms. Sugiyama (who was a first-year student at the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies at the time of application) was highly praised for its "logical concept and meticulous design," and won the Grand Prize.
