A paper lead-authored by Kai Mitsuzawa (a fourth-year student in the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies), a member of Professor Keisuke Uehara's and Professor Satoru Tezuka's research groups at the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, has won two awards at the Computer Security Symposium 2024 (CSS 2024): the "CSS2024 Encouragement Award" and the "OWS2024 Research Award."

Organized by the Computer Security Group (CSEC) of the Information Processing Society of Japan (IPSJ), CSS jointly holds sessions covering a wide range of security fields—including fundamental theories, communication protocols, computer architecture, operating systems, applications, case studies, management and operation, and psychological/social science considerations—along with seven workshops focused on specific topics. The symposium serves as a venue to promote collaboration and cooperation among industry, government, and academia. CSS 2024 was held from Tuesday, October 22 to Friday, October 25, 2024, at the Kobe International Conference Center.

The CSS Encouragement Award is presented to recognize and encourage future work that has been highly rated by evaluators for its novelty. Additionally, the OWS Research Award is given to a paper presented in the OWS session that is recognized not only for its novelty and reliability but also for its high practicality and significant contribution to the OSS community.

Comment from Kai Mitsuzawa

I am deeply honored that the paper I lead-authored has received two awards, the CSS 2024 Encouragement Award and the OWS2024 Research Award, at the Computer Security Symposium 2024. This achievement would not have been possible without the support of everyone involved in this research, especially the daily guidance from Professor Kondo, Professor Kai, Korry, and Professor Tezuka. I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude.

In this presentation, we proposed a definition of security risks in source code development and a method for their visualization. I will continue to devote myself to my research and strive to contribute to the advancement of cybersecurity.
