Keio University
Shonan Fujisawa Campus (SFC)
Keio University's Shonan Fujisawa Campus (SFC) in Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture, is implementing a behavioral change project for university faculty, staff, students, and local residents aimed at decarbonization, in collaboration with Studio Spobee, Inc. (Chuo-ku, Tokyo). "Reward Exchange Events," where participants can receive benefits, are scheduled to be held at SFC on Saturday, November 23, 2024, and Saturday, January 25, 2025.
In 2022, SFC set a goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030. To promote CO2 reduction and realize a sustainable campus, the Faculty of Policy Management, the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, the Faculty of Nursing and Medical Care, the Graduate School of Media and Governance, the Graduate School of Health Management, and the Keio Shonan Fujisawa Junior and Senior High School are collaborating on various activities.
As part of these efforts, and continuing from last year, SFC is implementing a behavioral change project using the eco-life app "SPOBY," developed by Studio Spobee, Inc. The goal is to reduce CO2 emissions by encouraging students, faculty, staff, and local residents to change their behavior, such as by avoiding travel in CO2-emitting vehicles for distances that can be covered on foot or by bicycle.
From the planning stage, faculty, staff, and students from across faculties and graduate schools have participated, discussing how to expand decarbonization-related behavioral changes to a wider range of students and local residents. In addition to decarbonization activities through walking and cycling, we will promote these efforts through newly devised initiatives such as visualizing decarbonization through the use of personal bottles and returnable containers, and a stamp rally that connects enjoyable decarbonization activities with regional revitalization.
SFC EXPO 2024
Starting with SFC's largest research presentation event, the "Open Research Forum (ORF)," various events such as the "Open Campus" and "Fujisawa Citizen's Lecture" will come together under the banner of the expo. You can experience SFC's "bangaku" (universal learning), which embodies a diverse range of research fields.
On the day of the event, we will exhibit our sustainable campus initiatives. Please visit the "Sustainable Campus Program" corner, located within the "Campus Country—Fujisawa City's Urban Development and SFC's Initiatives" section in the Omicron Building Foyer.
