July 10, 2024
The 35th SFC Tanabata Festival was held on Saturday, July 6, and Sunday, July 7, attracting 10,504 visitors on the first day and 4,786 on the second. Although both days were held amidst a heatwave, the weather was favorable, making it a vibrant Tanabata Festival filled with the energy of students and local community members, befitting this milestone year. We sincerely thank everyone for attending and for helping us conclude the event successfully and with great enthusiasm.
At the opening ceremony, the mayor of Fujisawa took the stage to deliver an address. From the first day, the outdoor stage, food stalls, Bon-odori dancing, and classroom projects were a great success. We believe visitors enjoyed the even more advanced content, including this year's first-ever projection mapping project. It was very impressive to see many families and children participating, enjoying the various events alongside the Keio students, and to witness performances where the audience and Keio students became one. Additionally, the annual SFC fireworks display was held on schedule, captivating visitors and enveloping the entire SFC campus in even greater excitement with its meticulously detailed production. Furthermore, at the SFC Art Festival, also held this year, the free and creative ideas of Keio students were transformed into a wide array of works, each one a surprising display of individual sensibility and talent.
The theme of this year's Tanabata Festival, "Three Primary Colors," embodies the wish to weave together the feelings of everyone involved in the festival and create unforgettable memories for 2024. With the second day coinciding with the Tanabata holiday itself, this was a festival held in a memorable year. We hope that all our visitors were able to create wonderful, lasting memories.
To the Keio students and members of the local community, nothing would make us happier than knowing that so many of you enjoyed the festival. We look forward to seeing you all again at next year's Tanabata Festival.
