Comment from Professor Akihito Shimazu

The mental health of working people is influenced not only by their work styles and working environments but also by their work-life balance (the harmony between work and family life). Our research group has revealed through one of the world's largest epidemiological studies that the work-life balance of dual-income couples raising children affects not only their own health but also the health of their partners and children.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, work styles and work-life balance have changed significantly. Going forward, I will continue my activities to serve as a bridge connecting research, practice, and policy.
