2022.12.20
Professor Akihito Shimazu of the Faculty of Policy Management has received the 2022 award from the Japan Society for Occupational Stress.
The Japan Society for Occupational Stress was established to promote research on occupational stress, disseminate countermeasures in the workplace, provide information, and serve as a forum for exchange among related parties.
The Society Award is presented to individuals who have achieved outstanding research results through many years of diligent study, have had numerous reviews, original articles, and equivalent papers published in the society's journal, "Sangyo Stress Kenkyu" (Japanese Journal of Occupational Stress), and have actively made high-quality research presentations at academic conferences in symposiums, general presentations, and other formats.
In conjunction with the award, Professor Shimazu delivered a commemorative lecture at the 30th Annual Meeting of the Japan Society for Occupational Stress, held on Saturday, December 3.
Comment from Professor Akihito Shimazu
This award is the result of the support and cooperation of the professors who have guided me, my collaborators both in Japan and abroad, the workers who participated in my research, the on-site staff who have worked hard alongside me, and my family.
The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly changed the environment surrounding working people, and the nature of stress is also changing.
I will continue to engage in activities that bridge research and practice to address the question of "how to enhance well-being in our professional lives, where we spend a large portion of our time."
