The season of vibrant greenery is upon us.

We hope you are all keeping well.

On May 1, Professor Toshihiro Nakayama passed away. We are deeply saddened and at a loss for words at the sudden passing of Professor Nakayama, who was a powerful force in education and research at the Shonan Fujisawa Campus (SFC) and a leader in the study of international politics in Japan. We will never forget his academic presence, always expressing his views with a sharp eye and without hesitation, nor his personal side, facing others with a very embracing smile. It is with profound regret that he has left us so suddenly and so soon.

A private funeral has already been held for his close relatives, but many of us have not yet had the chance to say our goodbyes. Therefore, we would like to invite you to a gathering for his students and colleagues at the Shonan Fujisawa Campus (SFC) to come together, remember the deceased, and share our memories.

We sincerely hope you will be able to join us.

Sincerely,

May 25, 2022
