Out of 112 entries from across the country, eight films that passed the initial screening were shown, and an awards ceremony was held. Maki's independent film "Dabo" was selected for the Special Jury Prize after passing the initial screening. "Dabo" was created as an attempt to bring cynical laughter to the daily life of a lazy man by re-evaluating his daydreams. It is a 4-minute, 15-second short film that portrays a unique worldview.

I am very honored to receive this award. The title, "Dabo," refers to myself, having spent much of my university life plagued by weariness and laziness. What makes me happiest is the feeling that this film has, in some small way, rescued the person I was back then, living under a shadow. This was my first time making a film, and it was created on a sudden impulse, so it is still rough and unrefined. But since I made it while joking around with my friends, I would be grateful if you would watch it in a lighthearted spirit if you get the chance. I will continue to make films, and I appreciate your support.
