I am truly honored to receive the 2021 Yamashita SIG Research Award. This research focuses on accelerating parallel sort, one of the key algorithms for efficiently handling large amounts of data. Looking back on my research activities, I feel that there were many times when I struggled and things did not go as planned, such as not obtaining the expected experimental results or having papers rejected by peer review. I was feeling stuck at the time I received the notification of the award, so it was a great encouragement. I was able to continue my research activities, including receiving this award, thanks to the support of many people. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude.
