The purpose of this agreement is for both parties to cooperate broadly across various fields, including education, research, and the resolution of various problems for the realization of a sustainable society, under a comprehensive partnership, and to return the results to society, thereby contributing to the development of Japan's academia and industry and the cultivation of human resources.
Under this agreement, the parties will engage in broad collaboration and cooperation in areas such as academic research, education, and the mutual exchange of faculty and staff. This is expected to lead to new developments in observation and research activities in the Antarctic and Arctic, as well as the establishment of an educational system that addresses global environmental issues through the study of polar regions.
