JSPORTS's "Tatsuki Machida's Sports Academia: Dialogue with Professor Shinya Fujii - Music Neuroscience," a program featuring Associate Professor Shinya Fujii of the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies that aired several times starting January 20, 2021, has won the Jury's Special Award at the 11th Satellite Broadcasting Association Original Program Awards.
The Satellite Broadcasting Association Original Program Awards were established to promote the production of original programs by the association's regular member broadcasters, leveraging the unique strengths of specialized channels, and to raise public awareness of these outstanding programs. The judging criteria focus on the originality of the works, a quality not found in other media, and the awards recognize achievements that have enhanced the credibility and authority of pay and multi-channel broadcasting. The 11th awards were judged on programs and programming projects that were first broadcast on the channels of Satellite Broadcasting Association member companies between April 1, 2020, and March 31, 2021.
"Tatsuki Machida's Sports Academia" is a sports information program based on the concept of "Researchers × Sports." In the program, Associate Professor Fujii spoke passionately about the fascinating aspects of his research on drummers, the mechanisms of how rhythm is processed in the brain, and the appeal of the music neuroscience and x-Music research being conducted at SFC.
Tatsuki Machida taught at SFC as a part-time lecturer at the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies from April 2018 to September 2020.
