The Keio Research Institute at SFC, Keio University has launched "S-face," a website that introduces its researchers to an international audience.

"S-face" introduces researchers from multiple perspectives as a series of articles through three different types of media: a website (in English), videos (in English), and a newsletter (in English/Japanese).

Vol. 27 features Senior Assistant Professor Yo Nonaka of the Faculty of Policy Management.

In today's world, Muslims make up a quarter of the total population, and Indonesia is the country with the largest Muslim population.

In recent years, as the number of tourists from Islamic countries visiting Japan has increased, it is not uncommon to see women wearing veils in the city.

Senior Assistant Professor Yo Nonaka studies the transformation of contemporary Southeast Asian, particularly Indonesian, society through the changing styles of dress of young Muslims in Indonesia. She is also developing projects that connect Japanese people with Islam and Muslims, which are gaining attention in the fields of tourism and business.
