"The 8th Data Business Creation Contest" Final Presentation, Judging, and Awards Ceremony (9/15)
~Digital Innovators Grand Prix 8 (DIG8)~
Proposals for a "Neo-Bookstore" for the internet age that will create the future of reading culture, under the theme of "The Future of Bookstores"
1. Purpose
This Data Business Creation Contest is for students from high schools to graduate schools nationwide to compete on proposals for a "Neo-Bookstore" for the internet age that will create the future of reading culture, using book sales data, open data, and more, under the theme of "The Future of Bookstores."
The Keio Research Institute at SFC at Keio University is collaborating with its business partner, CCC Marketing Co., Ltd., to manage this contest, including defining the theme, judging, and awarding prizes. Additionally, CCC Marketing is providing book sales data from "TSUTAYA" and "Tsutaya Books" for use in this contest (the provided data is a subset of data that has been statistically processed to prevent the identification of specific individuals). CCC Marketing believes it is its corporate social responsibility to give back to society and consumers the T-Card data entrusted to it by customers, and is working to widely open up opportunities to interact with T-Card data. As part of this initiative, by providing data for this contest and allowing participants to create businesses while interacting with the data, the company hopes this will lead to the creation and rediscovery of new value in data. This time, 53 teams applied to participate, and 28 of them entered the preliminary round. The 10 teams that passed the preliminary judging will give their final presentations at the final presentation event.
