The Camp for Designing the Future, aimed at high school students, was held at SFC from Wednesday, August 1 to Thursday, August 2.

The "Camp for Designing the Future," held for the eighth time this year, was designed as a venue for people meeting for the first time to share their diverse knowledge and wisdom and to think experientially about the "ability to execute" that will shape the future. Communicating with fellow campers while tackling open-ended problems sparks flexible thinking and flashes of insight.

On the day of the event, 128 high school students from across the country were divided into six workshops, where they proactively engaged in discussions and creative projects alongside faculty members and SFC students.

From workshops with heated discussions that defied the sweltering heat to those focused on creative projects that demanded their utmost intellectual and physical strength, students refined and proposed their ideas in collaboration with their peers. For everyone involved, it was a day to experience SFC firsthand.

In the residential workshops, participants stayed at the Miraisozojuku (Institute for Designing the Future) SBC Residence Halls, where they conducted fieldwork to discover the appeal of the local region, designed information environments, and pooled their knowledge day and night.

Shonan vegetables and fresh fruit from orchards in the local Endo area also added a vibrant touch to the event.

It was a day of meeting new friends and fostering connections, experiencing the unique perspectives and ways of thinking of SFC, and taking a step forward into the future.
