In October 2017, the Keio University Keio Research Institute at SFC established the xSDG Lab to solve problems in our diverse and complex society and realize a sustainable society, with the aim of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As part of the xSDG Lab's activities, the "xSDG Consortium" was established in June 2018 as a mechanism to create best practices through collaboration between stakeholders, such as corporations and local governments, and researchers. The first consortium meeting was held on July 26, 2018, to kick off the initiative, with many participants from 10 member companies and 2 local governments, as well as observers from relevant government ministries and agencies.

The SFC Research Consortium "xSDG Consortium" was established in June 2018 as a mechanism to create best practices for achieving the SDGs through collaboration between stakeholders, such as corporations and local governments, and researchers. Under the grand theme of the SDGs, the consortium will implement goal achievement for research topics in various fields through cross-stakeholder partnerships (SDG 17) between the university, corporations, local governments, and government ministries.

■ Joining the SFC Research Consortium "xSDG Consortium"

The SFC Research Consortium is a type of joint research conducted by the Keio Research Institute at SFC and multiple external organizations. It is characterized by the university taking the lead in setting research themes, calling on external organizations such as corporations and national and local governments to conduct joint research, and tackling large-scale issues across disciplines based on the premise of "mutual benefit."
