On Wednesday, June 6, twelve faculty members and students from the Master's and Doctoral Program in Japan Studies at the College of International Affairs, National Chengchi University (Taiwan), visited SFC to hold a joint workshop.

SFC and National Chengchi University have a deep relationship. Since the university established the Center for Modern Japan Studies in 2009 and founded the Master's and Doctoral Program in Japan Studies at its College of International Affairs in 2011, they have actively engaged in exchange. They have held various conferences in both Japan and Taiwan, promoting research exchange and joint research.

A formal exchange agreement was also established in August 2012. To date, Guest Professor Tomoki Kamo, Professor Ken Jimbo, Professor Yuichiro Shimizu, and Professor Hajime Miyagaki have served as visiting faculty at the College of International Affairs at National Chengchi University. In turn, faculty members from National Chengchi University affiliated with the program have also delivered guest lectures at SFC.

This exchange is part of an annual mutual visit program between Japan and Taiwan, with students from the program and SFC students, mainly from the Shimizu Seminar (Japanese Politics and Diplomacy), alternating visits each year. On the day of the event, after paying a courtesy visit to Yoko Hamada, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, a lively Q&A session followed presentations by six speakers, making the workshop a valuable opportunity to promote future exchanges.
