Keio Research Institute at SFC Signs "Cooperative Agreement on the Joint Development of the Osaki Town Recycling Future Creation Program"

— Jointly Developing and Promoting the "Osaki Town Recycling Scholarship Package" as the First Project Under the Agreement —

On April 10, Osaki Town, Kagoshima Shoko Shinkin Bank, and the Keio Research Institute at SFC, Keio University (hereinafter "Keio Research Institute at SFC") signed the "Cooperative Agreement on the Joint Development of the Osaki Town Recycling Future Creation Program."

Through the collaboration between Osaki Town, which has demonstrated the power of its residents and municipal staff by achieving the "highest recycling rate in Japan for 11 consecutive years"; Kagoshima Shoko Shinkin Bank, which practices "hyper-community-based management" in collaboration with the local community; and the Keio Research Institute at SFC, which has been engaged in "pioneering future-oriented jitsugaku (science) and human resource development," the parties will conduct research, development, and implementation of the "Osaki Town Recycling Future Creation Program." This initiative aims to promote the creation of social systems and the development of human resources that will lead the future in Osaki Town, Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan, and globally.

As part of this initiative, the "Osaki Town Recycling Scholarship Package" will be a joint development project. The purpose of this package is to support residents of Osaki Town in their endeavors around the world and to encourage their further success upon returning to the community. With advice from the Keio Research Institute at SFC (Social Innovation Lab) and cooperation from industry, government, academia, labor, finance, and media related to Osaki Town and Kagoshima Shoko Shinkin Bank, the two parties will collaborate on the research, development, and promotion of the package.

Overview

Osaki Town, Kagoshima Shoko Shinkin Bank, and the Keio Research Institute at SFC have signed the "Cooperative Agreement on the Joint Development of the Osaki Town Recycling Future Creation Program" to collaborate on the research, development, and promotion of the following items, with the aim of contributing to the formation of social systems that will lead the future and to the development of human resources.

(Collaborative Items)

(1)

Matters related to regional revitalization, community activation, global strategy, and future strategy for Osaki Town.

(2)

Matters related to the research, development, promotion, and dissemination of the "Recycling Scholarship Package."

(3)

Matters related to the development and exchange of human resources responsible for regional revitalization, community development, and social innovation.

(4)

Matters related to the utilization of intellectual, human, and material resources of Osaki Town, Kagoshima Shoko Shinkin Bank, and the Keio Research Institute at SFC.

(5)

Other matters necessary to achieve the objectives of this memorandum of understanding.
