Continuing from last year, the Agri-Platform Consortium (headed by Jun Murai, Professor at the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies and Dean of the Graduate School of Media and Governance), operated by the Keio Research Institute at SFC at Keio University, has held the "Website Contest for Agricultural High Schools and Agricultural Colleges Nationwide" as part of its industry-academia collaboration in the agricultural IT field. In the first round of judging, a total of 62 schools were selected, including representative schools from all 47 prefectures, 12 schools in a special category, and 3 agricultural colleges. From these 62 selected agricultural high schools and colleges, approximately 14 winning schools will be chosen, with an awards ceremony scheduled for March 19. We invite the press to cover this event.

■ Purpose of the Contest

This contest aims not only to appeal to junior high/high school students and working adults aspiring to enter farming but also to further increase the visibility of agricultural educational institutions and help stimulate the entire agricultural sector. It independently judges and awards agricultural high schools and colleges nationwide based on how effectively they use their public websites as a tool to broadly communicate their activities, "depicting agriculture with a dream and carrying out activities in their own unique way."

■ Judging Outline

(1) First Round: From 385 agricultural high schools (including high schools with agricultural departments) and 47 agricultural colleges nationwide, 62 schools were selected. *See attached sheet for details on the 62 schools.

(2) Final Judging: 14 schools will be selected from the 62 schools.

(3) Judging Criteria: ・Whether the school effectively uses its website to disseminate original information

・Richness of website content (accuracy, visibility, frequency of updates/continuity)

・Whether the school is taking on new initiatives, such as the use of ICT.
