The Keio Research Institute at SFC, Keio University, has launched "S-face," a website to introduce its researchers to a global audience.
"S-face" introduces researchers from multiple perspectives through a series of features on three different types of media: a website (in English), videos (in English), and a newsletter (in English/Japanese).
Vol. 24 features Senior Assistant Professor Takeya Takagi of the Faculty of Policy Management.
News concerning the Korean Peninsula, such as the North Korean issue and the Korean Wave boom, has become a familiar presence in our lives, for better or for worse.
But how well do we Japanese people truly understand the people living in our neighboring country?
In fact, the Korean language and people have a more global presence than we might imagine.
Senior Assistant Professor Takeya Takagi is conducting extensive fieldwork, using discourse analysis of the Korean language spoken around the world to deepen our understanding of the Korean people.
