Keio University Takashi Iba Laboratory
Creates "Open Dialogue Patterns,"
a Compilation of the Secrets to Practicing Open Dialogue
- To be presented at ORF2017 on November 22 -
The Keio University Takashi Iba Laboratory has created "Open Dialogue Patterns," a pattern language that compiles the secrets to practicing Open Dialogue. Open Dialogue is a method of dialogue that originated and is practiced in Finland, used in the treatment of mental illnesses including schizophrenia. In recent years, Open Dialogue has been gaining significant attention in Japan, and its application is beginning to expand into other fields, such as improving communication for social withdrawal (hikikomori), in education, organizations, and daily life.
The newly created "Open Dialogue Patterns" compiles the secrets of practicing Open Dialogue into 30 concepts. These findings will be presented at the Keio University SFC Open Research Forum 2017 (ORF2017), held at Tokyo Midtown on Wednesday, November 22, where a booklet will be distributed exclusively to session attendees. The session will also feature a dialogue workshop using "Open Dialogue Patterns" cards. This is a groundbreaking dialogue method with the potential to contribute to resolving issues in various fields. We encourage you to attend, share, and cover this event.
