Verbalizing diverse family structures and lifestyles
Creates “Style Language for Nurturing Families”
— To be presented at ORF2017 on November 23 —
The Takashi Iba Laboratory at Keio University and the Lifestyle Research Center at Kao Corporation have created the “Style Language for Nurturing Families,” which verbalizes various family structures and lifestyles.
The “Style Language for Nurturing Families” is a collection of words that summarize diverse family structures and lifestyles, such as mealtimes, how to spend weekends, and household rules. Looking through the more than 300 diverse style words, you will find many that you will want to try for yourself. By learning about the styles of other families, which are usually difficult to know, you can find hints for creating your own "everyday world." These words can also be used as a new medium for discussing family structures and lifestyles.
This work, the “Style Language for Nurturing Families,” will be presented at the Keio University SFC Open Research Forum 2017 (ORF2017), held at Tokyo Midtown on Thursday, November 23 (a public holiday), and a dialogue workshop using it will also be held.
