Registration is now open for the FutureLearn course "Understanding Quantum Computers," taught by Associate Professor Rodney Van Meter of the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies.

FutureLearn is an online educational provider launched in 2013 by The Open University, a UK institution with a proven track record in distance learning, in partnership with 23 top universities, the British Council, the British Museum, and the British Library. In 2015, Keio University became the first official participating institution from Japan.

The trailer below has been released, and registration is now open.

[Course Title: Understanding Quantum Computers]

Start Date: 3 weeks from Monday, October 2

This course is designed for high school students and those considering entering the field of quantum computing. It offers an easy-to-understand explanation of what quantum computers are, how they can be useful in our daily lives, and the efforts being made toward their practical application.

The course is conducted entirely in English (videos include English subtitles), and discussions among participants are also in English.

The course is free of charge.
