On March 17, Professor Yasushi Kiyoki of the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies and Dean of the Graduate School of Media and Governance was invited to Chula Expo 2017, held to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, with which Keio University has student exchange and comprehensive agreements. He gave a lecture to Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of the Kingdom of Thailand.
He lectured on the "Joint Research on the Construction of an Integrated Database of Multispectral Imaging by Drones (Chulalongkorn) and the 5-Dimensional World-Map System (KEIO)" between the Graduate School of Media and Governance and the Faculty of Science at Chulalongkorn University, Kingdom of Thailand. A discussion was held on its application to the analysis of river, lake, and pond water resources in Thailand.
Over 300 students also participated. Her Royal Highness Princess Sirindhorn listened intently in front of the exhibited drone, and there was an active Q&A session and exchange of opinions from the participants.
Keio University and Chulalongkorn University in Thailand have a long-standing MoU (Memorandum of Understanding between Keio University and Chulalongkorn University). Within this long-term partnership, the opportunity to lecture to Her Royal Highness Princess Sirindhorn was a valuable chance to further promote the development of collaboration between our Juku and Chulalongkorn University.
