Yuka Momiki, a second-year student at the Faculty of Policy Management, has been selected for the U-20 Japan National Team that will compete in the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup (November 13–December 3, Papua New Guinea). Momiki will wear the ace number 10 jersey.
Japan's best result in the U-20 Women's World Cup is third place, which they achieved when they hosted the tournament. With expectations high for their performance at the Tokyo Olympics, the team is aiming to become world champions in this tournament. In the group stage, they will face Nigeria, Spain, and Canada.
A Comment from Yuka Momiki
I am very happy to have been selected for the U-20 Japan Women's National Team for the tournament in Papua New Guinea starting November 13. However, at the same time, I also feel a sense of responsibility to compete while carrying the hopes of the players who were not selected, those struggling with injuries, and everyone who supports me.
I personally have strong feelings about this tournament, and I intend to compete by giving it my all, without thinking about what comes next.
Thank you all for your support.
