The Research Power-Up Program is a research support system that allows researchers who are in the process of childbirth and child-rearing to hire temporary staff for a certain period to continue their research with as little disruption as possible. If you wish to receive support from this program, please review the following guidelines and submit your application.
◆ Eligibility
Full-time researchers (fixed-term or tenured, regardless of gender) working at the Shonan Fujisawa Campus (SFC) (Faculty of Policy Management, Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, Faculty of Nursing and Medical Care, Graduate School of Media and Governance, Graduate School of Health Management) who are pregnant at the time of application or are raising a child in the third grade of elementary school or younger.
◆ Support Details
For a certain period when assistance is needed due to time constraints (e.g., picking up children from daycare) or health constraints arising from childbirth and child-rearing, this program will subsidize the personnel costs for temporary staff.
(1) Maximum monthly amount: 28,000 yen (including transportation expenses. The hourly wage for general staff and graduate students will be 1,050 yen.)
(2) Support Period: From October 1, 2016, to a maximum of March 31, 2017, after the selection is finalized (excluding periods of leave for maternity, childcare, etc.).
*
The duties of the temporary staff shall be limited to auxiliary tasks necessary for the research activities of the researcher using this program.
*
The program budget cannot be used to cover personnel costs for researchers who conduct research independently, for tasks that are clearly not considered assistance, or for temporary staff hired to work on specific research projects.
*
Payments for improving the environment of the laboratory where the temporary staff works, etc., are not covered.
*
As this program is implemented as part of the Program for Promoting the Enhancement of Research Universities, it cannot be used to support educational duties.
*
The support does not cover periods of study abroad or special research leave (sabbatical).
◆ Application Method: Applicants should apply through the URL below.
* Personal information submitted for application to this program will be used solely for the selection process.
* If selected, you will be required to submit documents proving that you are raising a child or are pregnant (e.g., a copy of your resident registration, Maternal and Child Health Handbook). Please submit these to the responsible office (Office of Research Development and Sponsored Projects at Shonan Fujisawa Campus).
◆ Application Period: August 22 (Mon) - August 31 (Wed), 2016
◆ Screening and Notification of Results
