W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) and IDPF (International Digital Publishing Forum) Explore Merger of Organizations

W3C and IDPF announced on May 10, 2016, in Chicago, Illinois, that they have a plan to combine their organizations to accelerate the advancement of publishing technology on the Open Web Platform.

Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the Web and W3C Director, and Bill McCoy, IDPF Executive Director, unveiled this plan after the keynote address at IDPF DigiCon, held at BookExpo America (BEA) 2016 in Chicago from May 10–11.
