Risa Sato, a first-year student, achieved an impressive 4th place in the world in the Word 2010 category at the final round of the MOS/ACA World Championship 2015, held from August 9 to 12, 2015 (local time) in Dallas, Texas, USA.

MOS stands for Microsoft Office Specialist. It is an international PC certification that proves user proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel.

This year's competition saw a total of 834,000 students from 82 countries participate. The representatives from Japan took a special exam for the final round in Word and PowerPoint, competing against representatives selected from each country to demonstrate their high level of skill.

A Comment from Risa Sato

I am very happy to have been selected as a representative for Japan and to have been able to participate in the world championship.

After arriving in the United States, it was a constant battle with myself, and I repeatedly went over what I had studied.

Unfortunately, I was not able to win, but I am extremely happy to have placed 4th, a result I achieved thanks to the support of those around me.

Also, it was because of the presence of the representatives from each country, who, although in different categories, were all aiming to be the best in the world and competing together, that I was able to have such a wonderful experience.

I hope to continue to do my best in various situations, making use of what I learned at this competition.
