On Tuesday, July 21, 2015, two students from Kunming, Yunnan Province, China, visited SFC.

The two students are studying Japanese at universities in Kunming, Yunnan Province, a sister city of Fujisawa. They came to Japan as part of an international exchange program run by Fujisawa City and the Shonan Japan-China Friendship Association after winning first and second place in the 6th annual Japanese speech contest for Chinese students.

Although their stay was short, lasting about half a day, they received an explanation about Keio University and SFC from Jun Murai, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, and Professor Wang-Lin Yen of the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies.

They also interacted with current students through a campus tour and an exchange meeting.

In addition, they visited the laboratory of Professor Eiichi Tajima of the Faculty of Policy Management, whose research focuses on themes such as Chinese area studies and Chinese civil society. They listened with great interest to presentations by current students, at times offering their own opinions from the perspective of students living in China, and enjoyed a glimpse into the learning experience at SFC.

It was a unique opportunity for these young people, who will shape the future of Japan-China relations, to exchange opinions in a learning environment.
