On the afternoon of Saturday, April 19, the annual kite-flying event was held at the planned construction site for the Miraisozojuku (Institute for Designing the Future) on the Shonan Fujisawa Campus (SFC). The kite that was flown was a large one, measuring 4.5 tatami mats, which had been displayed in Building A for the past year. It was made by student volunteers under the guidance of members of the local Endo district's "Tako no Kai" (Kite Association). Flying such a kite every year has become an annual spring event, held as part of the required courses "Fundamentals of Policy Management" and "Fundamentals of Environment and Information Studies" for first-year students of the Faculty of Policy Management and the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, with the cooperation of the "Tako no Kai."

This year, the event started under a cloudy sky with little wind, but after a while, it caught a fortunate gust of wind, and the large kite soared high in the sky for more than five minutes. The magnificent sight of the kite, inscribed with the character for "Dream" (夢), was etched in the hearts of each participant. The kite-flying event concluded safely, and the large kite is now once again on display in the lobby of Building Α.
