Mr. Nakashima

Hirotaka Nakashima (first-year Ph.D. program student, Graduate School of Media and Governance), a member of the Yoshikazu Muto Laboratory, received the 1st Prize in the Excellent Poster Award at the Poster Session of the GCCE (Global Conference for Consumer Electronics) 2013. This international conference was hosted by the IEEE (The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc.), the world's largest professional association for the electrical and electronics field.

GCCE 2013 is an international conference on consumer electronics technology and home appliance technology, providing a venue for researchers, engineers, and companies to interact through lectures and the latest presentations. It was held at Makuhari Messe from October 1-4.

Paper Title: WebSocket Proxy System for Mobile Devices

This research focuses on accelerating web resource transfers over networks with high latency and packet loss. The approach was recognized for enabling high-speed transfers by using a proxy with WebSocket, which is less susceptible to latency, to overcome the transfer speed degradation caused by HTTP's concurrent connection limits and TCP ACKs.

Comment from Hirotaka Nakashima

I am very happy to have received such a prestigious award for my presentation at an international conference. Through the presentation and comments from the peer review process, I received feedback from many people, which has clarified the future direction and challenges of my research.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Professor Muto and Professor Isshiki for their guidance in advancing this research, as well as everyone involved who supported this work. I will continue to devote myself to my research, encouraged by this award, and I ask for your continued support.
