On Saturday, April 27, the annual spring event of kite flying was held at Shonan Fujisawa Campus (SFC). This event is held every year as part of "Creation of Policy Management" and "Creation of Environment and Information Studies," required courses for first-year students of the Faculty of Policy Management and the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, with the cooperation of the local Endo district "Tako no Kai" (Kite Association).
Over 100 participants, including students from both faculties, faculty and staff members, upper-year students who helped make the kites, and members of the "Tako no Kai," attended the event.
The kite flying took place at the planned construction site for the "Miraisozojuku (Institute for Designing the Future)," an area that is normally inaccessible, under the guidance of the "Tako no Kai" members. The 4.5-tatami-mat-sized kite made by the students did not fly well due to the gentle wind, but cheers erupted when the "Tako no Kai's" 2-tatami-mat-sized kite soared high into the sky.
After the event, the large kite made by the students is on display in the lobby of Building Alpha.
