Alumni Relations Committee
What Is the SFC Alumni Relations Committee?
This committee was established in April 2021 to serve as a hub for promoting greater collaboration between SFC (the university) and its alumni.
While a committee with a similar name existed in the past, we have made a fresh start after various developments.
Since its establishment in 1990, SFC has produced many graduates.
As these once-young graduates have aged, they have gradually found more stability in their careers and family lives. A growing number are now looking back fondly on their student days and wishing to contribute to the next generation.
For SFC (the university), the presence of its alumni is also extremely important, both as role models for current students and as supporters who understand SFC. We are also seeing an increase in cases where the children of alumni—now parents themselves—are enrolling as second-generation SFC students.
Amid these circumstances, this committee was established to explore a more mature relationship between SFC and its alumni.
Our goal is to identify and document, as much as possible, the various projects and initiatives between SFC and its alumni that have frequently occurred but remained scattered (which, in its own way, is very SFC-like...). We aim to preserve these efforts, ensuring they are not merely transient but are accumulated and carried forward.
The purpose of this committee is to build a sustainable relationship where the university and its alumni can grow through mutual engagement.
Specifically, our activities will include the following:
Gathering and consolidating information on collaborative projects and activities with alumni, which are currently scattered both within and outside SFC, to build a repository of knowledge.
Managing and effectively utilizing data (such as contact lists and facts) collected from various projects, to the extent possible.
Examining how to best utilize the accumulated information and data.
