In fiscal year 2020, all facilities of the SBC (Student Built Campus) will be completed. The name will change from the block name, EAST Block, to the facility name, "β (Beta) Village," and it will begin full-scale activities as a new base for residential education and research at SFC. Currently, five facilities are under construction: "β Dome (Education and Research Presentation Building)," "β3 (Residential Building 3)," "β4 (Residential Building 4)," "β Studio (Research and Experiment Building)," and "β Pavilion."

[β Dome (Education and Research Presentation Building)]
With a total floor area of 215 m², it uses a system of plywood laminated to paper honeycomb boards to create a column-free space with a diameter of 15 meters. It can be used for various purposes, serving as a venue for residents of the residential buildings to present their results and for social gatherings and interaction, as well as for research presentations and exhibitions. The construction of the building is complete, and students are currently building the furniture.
[β3 (Residential Building 3)]
With a total floor area of 388 m² and an accommodation capacity of 36 people, this is the only two-story facility in β Village. It features a large common space, including a kitchen, in the center of the second floor, while the first floor has capsule hotel-style bed spaces and wet areas such as shower booths. The design is intended for large groups to live and eat together in a single space, while also allowing them to disperse into clusters for group work. Foundation work is currently underway.
[β4 (Residential Building 4)]
With a total floor area of 84 m² and an accommodation capacity of 12 people, this facility is designed for individual stays, consisting of private and common spaces. The 12 private spaces are arranged as a three-dimensionally continuous, capsule hotel-like space, and the interior of each is designed to allow students to participate in the construction. It will be used by students staying on campus to work on assignments, as well as for short-term stays by faculty and researchers.
[β Studio (Research and Experiment Building)]
With a total floor area of 66 m², this studio features a structure made of paper tubes, creating a column-free space with a 12-meter span. Together with the adjacent "β Factory (DFF-W)," it will be used as a base for manufacturing-related projects. The foundation work is now complete, and the structural framework construction is in progress.
[β Pavilion]
With a total floor area of 66 m², this is a relocation to β Village of the facility originally built on September 30, 2015, in the courtyard west of the Media Center (M Building) as a base for SBC activities. After relocation, it will once again be used as a base for planning and managing the completed β Village.
