Research theme

Research on “Evolutional Creativity,” a methodology that applies the evolutionary mechanisms of mutation and selection to creative processes. The study investigates the generation, selection, and evaluation of ideas and examines its effectiveness in creativity education and innovation through applications in companies, universities, and schools.

Research on “ADAPTMENT,” a climate adaptation methodology for strengthening society’s capacity to adapt to climate risks such as flooding, extreme heat, and water scarcity. Inspired by biological and ecological adaptation, the research integrates watersheds, cities, buildings, and communities to explore climate-adaptive design and its implementation in society.

Research on methodologies for identifying and visualizing the distinctive natural, cultural, industrial, technological, and human assets of regions and transforming them into new social and economic value through design. The study integrates branding, products, spatial design, digital technologies, and social systems to explore sustainable models of regional revitalization through co-creation.

Research on next-generation audio guides that combine generative AI, multilingual translation, speech synthesis, and location-based technologies to make place-based knowledge and stories accessible to diverse audiences. The study explores new forms of knowledge experience and communication across nature, culture, education, and tourism by integrating AI-generated content with human expertise.

Research on digital mapping methods that integrate spatial information on topography, watersheds, rivers, floods, landslides, and climate change to make environmental risks intuitively understandable. By combining GIS-based watershed analysis with information design, the research aims to connect complex environmental and disaster-risk information with decision-making and action by citizens, governments, and businesses.
