中高年を対象とした、ITを活用した生活習慣改善プログラム「インターネット健康コミュニティ」の概要とその効果について述べる。生活習慣改善は、長期に継続して取り組むこと、また本人が主体的に取り組むことが重要である。本プログラムのインターネットでの記録蓄積・コミュニケーションと対面型のコミュニケーションを併用しているという特徴は、食事・運動記録の蓄積によりセルフモニタリングが可能となること、対面でのコミュニケーションが継続的な記録の蓄積の原動力となりえることが示唆された。(著者抄録)

目的:85-89歳の地域在住高齢者の座位行動を客観的に評価し,テレビ視聴時間を含む関連要因について多面的に検討する。方法:The Kawasaki Aging and Wellbeing Project(KAWP)のベースライン(2017-18年)調査の参加者1,026名に連続7日間の加速度計装着を依頼し,有効データ914名(女性473名)の座位行動を客観的に評価した。重回帰分析を男女別に行い,座位行動との関連要因を3領域(身体状況,社会経済状況,生活習慣)の24因子と年齢,計25因子から検討した。結果:総座位時間・装着時間に占める座位時間の割合は男性1日平均(標準偏差)9.4(1.9)時間・67%,女性8.6(1.8)時間・59%と男性が女性より長く座っており,30分以上継続する座位時間の割合も女性より高かった。重回帰分析により座位行動と関連が認められた要因は,関連が強い順に,男性ではテレビ視聴時間・BMI(正),家事時間・園芸スコア・運動時間・歩行速度・握力・ADL(負),女性ではBMI・テレビ視聴時間(正),家事時間・睡眠時間・運動時間・ADL・外出スコア(負)であった。結論:80歳代後半の地域在住高齢者の座位行動にはテレビ視聴以外に,BMI・歩行速度・握力・ADLなどの身体状況要因,家事・園芸・運動・睡眠・外出などの生活習慣要因が多面的に関連していた。(著者抄録)

Physical activities associated with mobility are assumed to have a reciprocal relationship with the health condition. With the social momentum, including the extension of healthy life expectancy, health would be an essential element in future transportation planning. In this study, we summarize the existing studies on the relationship between mobility and health in Japan from the viewpoint of health-related indicators, mobility-related indicators, and their combinations. We clarified that both mobility- and health-related indicators could be divided into those commonly adopted by multiple studies and those independently adopted. In addition, while indicators related to awareness and intentions and manifest mobility and health status may be necessary, there are issues in applying standardized measurement methods.

Although physical activities have many health benefits, adverse events and near misses, such as injuries and falls, can occur during these activities. This study aimed to assess the occurrence of adverse events and near misses during sports activities conducted independently by community residents. A survey questionnaire was sent via the internet to the leaders or directors of sports organizations at six public sports centers or associations. In total, 108 individuals answered the survey, with 60% male and 40% female respondents. Individuals aged 50–69 years accounted for 60% of the total number of respondents. All respondents were asked about their experiences of adverse events and near misses within the past three years: the reports of these incidents were obtained using the recall method. Duplicate adverse events and near misses were identified based on the sports discipline, time of occurrence, and sex and age of person involved to determine if there were duplicate reports. Most of the respondents’ activities as staff were performed once a month, with each activity lasting 1–2 h. Forty-five adverse events were reported, including 26 injuries, 13 falls, and 6 others (such as heat stroke, vertigo, and presyncope). Twenty-four near misses were reported, including 12 near collisions with people or objects, five near falls, and seven other incidents. We found that approximately 30% of the respondents experienced adverse events, suggesting the need for documentation of adverse events, implementation of safety measures, and proper safety education for operating staff.
