- In the present work, we attempted at expressing human “two-facedness” by the “two-sidedness” of the 3D structures. In the field of geometry, there exists a two-facedness called “duality,” which represents the relationship between diagrams that switch between faces (cells) and vertices. Delaunay diagram and Voronoi diagram give a typical example. We have developed an algorithm to generate a Poisson-disk distribution in an arbitrary shape to make sculptures with those diagrams. The Delaunay diagram generated by Poisson-disk distribution point cloud makes up the uniform tetrahedral mesh (except for the surface). Since those cells are close to a regular tetrahedron, Voronoi vertices located on the circumcenters also have an almost uniform distribution. This piece recieved Grad Prize from ADMC2017.

- 2016年11月29日(日)．私学の雄，早稲田大学と慶應義塾大学が神宮球場でも，秩父宮ラグビー場でもなく2016年後期CG-ARTS検定の場で熱き戦いを繰り広げた．これまでも，毎年各校で受験していたが，奇しくも，今回は早慶理工学部3年生それぞれ40人の学生が「CGエンジニア検定エキスパート」を受験した．本レポートは，「CG-ARTS検定 華の早慶戦」と題し，担当教員の早稲田大学森島教授，慶應義塾大学藤代教授にその結果を見ながら，戦いの総括をしていただいた．

情報科学の名探偵！ 魔法の数式 スパースモデリング

- 今話題の情報処理技術・スパースモデリング．スパースとは「すかすか」，「少ない」を意味し，少ない情報から全体像を的確にあぶり出すという，まるで名探偵のような数式だ．MRIの撮影時間を3分の1に短縮し，過去の津波到達範囲の判別につながる方法を開発．さらにはブラックホールの正体にも迫ろうとしている．複雑な事がらをスパース（すかすか）にすることで本質を浮かび上がらせるという魔法の数式に迫る（番組紹介）．関連する科研費新学術領域計画研究の一つとして可視化班の研究テーマが紹介された．
