Biography

General introduction

The Matsumoto Laboratory conducts research and development on new devices and compact, high-precision systems by integrating various cutting-edge technologies. We actively engage in collaborative research with other laboratories and tackle a wide range of topics, including sensors, IoT, environmental measurement, and machine learning for sensing applications. [Research Themes] Sensor Devices: We conduct research and development in areas such as IoT, environmental monitoring, and agricultural sensing. We also conduct research on next-generation IoT communication technologies, including LPWA and Wi-Fi HaLo. Cloud Systems: We conduct research on remote control via cloud systems, as well as image recognition systems utilizing Edge AI cameras and local LLMs. We are also prototyping a training system for radiation contamination using smartphones.

Research

Reseach overview

This laboratory focuses on the development of IoT environmental sensing system which measures the weather, radiation or PM2.5 information using sensor, network and circuit technology. The data transmits through Wi-Fi or LPWA network to collect or record by cloud system. The data was also recorded by the mobile device with a map positioning data. The cloud system analyzes the data using machine learning.
