- コンステレーションは、芸術学や美術史において検討されていない概念だが、コンポジションやコンストラクションとともに近代的な作品概念や制作論を支える重要な機軸とみなさざるをえない。この概念は、19世紀末からの記憶をめぐる心理学、また1910年代のユングの精神分析学で専門的な位置づけを獲得したが、1920年代後半になると、ハンス・アルプやバウハウスの芸術家たちは重要な造形上の概念と認知し、また批評家ベンヤミンもこの概念を方法論的な武器として批評作業の戦列に加える。本論では、ハンス・アルプとパウル・クレーの1930年前後の制作活動を取り上げ、コンステレーション概念の意味を明確化した。
