Research Support Systems

This system allows for the personnel expenses of a Principal Investigator (PI) to be paid from the direct expenses of competitive research funds. This enables research institutions to use the financial resources previously allocated for PI personnel expenses, at their own discretion, for initiatives that contribute to improving the PI's research performance and strengthening the institution's research capabilities.

This system allows for the direct expenses of competitive research funds to cover the costs of hiring substitutes for non-research duties, thereby securing research time for Principal Investigators and Co-Investigators.

This program aims to cultivate young researchers who will create the common sense of the future by enabling them to focus on their research with intellectual freedom and original ideas during their appointment.

This program enables host research institutions to employ JSPS Research Fellows (PD, RPD, and CPD) who were not previously employed by any institution. The host institutions are then responsible for the development of these fellows and the improvement of the research environment.

The purpose of this program is to cultivate outstanding and ambitious doctoral students who will shape the future of Japan's science, technology, and innovation.
