Collaboration with Domestic Research Institutions

Keio University aims to further disseminate its research outcomes and contribute to the international community by promoting industry-academia-government collaboration with universities, research institutions, and private corporations both in Japan and abroad.

Collaboration with Research Institutions (Domestic)

While joint research and personnel exchanges with private corporations are actively conducted on each campus, comprehensive partnership agreements for Keio University as a whole have strengthened interdisciplinary research and multifaceted cooperation at the organizational level.

Japan Airlines Co., Ltd.

A collaborative partnership aimed at conducting joint research on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and other initiatives.

RIKEN, a National Research and Development Agency

A comprehensive collaborative partnership for initiatives such as conducting cross-faculty and cross-organizational research (e.g., studies to understand human intelligence) and establishing a hub for international human resource development.

NTT, Inc.

A collaborative partnership focusing on the field of information and communications, particularly in areas such as broadband communications, ubiquitous networking, and IP networks.

Hitachi, Ltd.

A collaborative partnership aiming at disseminating international and interdisciplinary technologies.


Collaboration with Other Universities (Domestic)

To further strengthen our educational and research systems, we also focus on partnerships with other universities and graduate schools. While many collaborations exist at the undergraduate faculty and graduate school level, here is an example of a university-wide partnership.

Institute of Science Tokyo (formerly Tokyo Institute of Technology)

An agreement has been made on student exchange to foster talent that transcends the boundaries of arts and sciences and the divide between national and private universities.

The Four-University Nano/Micro-Fabrication Consortium of Keio University, Waseda University, Tokyo Institute of Technology, and The University of Tokyo

The four universities established an inter-university consortium for nano/microfabrication to promote the development of an educational and research structure and industry-academia collaboration.

Hitotsubashi University

This program promotes the development of global leaders active in the worlds of research and practice through educational and research collaboration and cooperation.

Kyoto University, The University of Tokyo, and Waseda University

The program concluded an agreement on inter-university student exchange in graduate education. This provides graduate students enrolled in master's programs or doctoral programs with opportunities to receive diverse educational and research guidance, fostering the advancement of academia and developing capable individuals.

Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology

We have concluded an agreement on scientific and academic cooperation. The cooperation includes implementing joint graduate programs, providing mutual support for education and human resource development, and engaging in research cooperation such as joint research projects.

Presentations and Exhibitions of Research Outcomes

We host the following events to widely disseminate our research outcomes and provide a venue for encounters that can lead to industry-government-academia collaboration, such as joint research and technology transfer.
