OIST and Keio University Conclude a Partnership Agreement—Promoting the Advancement of Science and Technology in Japan through Collaboration

On August 26, 2022, the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology School Corporation (Onna-son, Okinawa; President: Peter Gruss; hereinafter OIST) and Keio University (Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Kohei Ito; hereinafter Keio University) concluded a basic agreement on scientific and academic cooperation. The purpose of this agreement is to contribute to the promotion of science and technology through partnership and cooperation based on the spirit of reciprocity.

The main areas of partnership and cooperation are as follows:

(1) Mutual exchange of faculty, researchers, and research support and administrative staff

(2) Implementation of joint graduate school programs and mutual support for education and human resource development

(3) Research cooperation, including joint research projects

(4) Mutual use of research facilities and equipment

(5) Mutual use of academic materials, publications, and other information

(6) Sharing of best practices regarding technology transfer and entrepreneurship development

(7) Other areas agreed upon by both parties as necessary to achieve the objectives of this agreement, in addition to (1) through (6) above
