A research group from the Department of Neurology, Keio University School of Medicine, led by Senior Lecturer Tsubasa Takizawa, Assistant Professor Koji Sekiguchi, and Professor Jin Nakahara, has investigated the characteristics and frequency of headaches after COVID-19 vaccination among the nursing staff at Keio University Hospital. The study revealed that individuals who regularly suffer from headaches are more likely to develop headaches as a side effect after COVID-19 vaccination (37.9% in healthy individuals versus 69.2% in those with migraines and 71.4% in those with non-migraine headaches).

The results of this study were published in the online edition of "Cephalalgia" on August 19, 2021 (Japan Standard Time).
