In March 2015, Keio University (President: Akira Haseyama; Minato-ku, Tokyo) and JSR Corporation (CEO: Mitsunobu Koshiba; Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo) agreed to establish the JSR-Keio University Medical and Chemical Innovation Center (JKiC), a joint research center positioned as a hub for industry-academia-medical collaboration (URL: https://www.keio.ac.jp/en/press-releases/2015/Mar/27/28-11131/ ). Construction of the joint research building has been underway on the Shinanomachi Campus. An opening ceremony will now be held to mark the completion of the JSR-Keio University Medical and Chemical Innovation Center.

At JKiC, JSR, a chemical materials manufacturer, and the Keio University School of Medicine will collaborate with the goal of contributing to society and education. They will achieve this by promoting global innovation in the medical field through the establishment of new diagnostic, therapeutic, and medical support technologies that support a society of healthy longevity, and by developing new materials and products that will lead to the dissemination of these technologies.

Going forward, from Japan, a country facing a super-aging society ahead of the rest of the world, we will communicate our initiatives for advanced research and business creation aimed at achieving healthy longevity, as well as our framework for responding to the ever-changing needs of the medical frontline.

We would like to invite the press to cover this opening ceremony.
