19th Grant

The 145th Annual Meeting of the Pharmaceutical Society of Japan (March 27–29, 2025) (Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture)

I would like to express my sincere gratitude for being selected for the Sato Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. Research Encouragement Award.

At the 145th Annual Meeting of the Pharmaceutical Society of Japan, I gave an oral presentation titled "The Impact of Gastric Acid Suppressants on the Therapeutic Effects of CDK4/6 Inhibitors in Patients with Endocrine Therapy-Sensitive Breast Cancer."

In this study, given that gastric acid suppressants are widely used in cancer patients, we focused on the drug-drug interactions between these agents and palbociclib or abemaciclib, which are first-line treatments for the major subtypes of metastatic and recurrent breast cancer. There are limited domestic reports on this interaction, and further research is needed.

Although I was nervous as it was my first oral presentation, I went through a process of trial and error to deliver a concise and accurate presentation within the limited time. I also received a great deal of feedback from my co-researchers, which enabled me to give a presentation that I was satisfied with. I also received questions from the professors in the audience, making it a very meaningful opportunity.

Furthermore, this conference featured a wide range of presentations related to pharmaceutical sciences, and as a pharmacy student who will soon be entering the clinical field, I was able to gain a great deal of knowledge. Building on this experience, I intend to continue my research to solve clinical challenges.

In closing, I would like to once again express my heartfelt gratitude to Sato Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. for their support of my participation in this conference.
