Urawa Main Garden
We cultivate and display useful plants, including the source plants for crude drugs listed in the Japanese Pharmacopoeia, as well as familiar medicinal and poisonous herbs, their related species, and raw materials for dyes and spices.
Area: Approx. 3,500㎡ (Open-air specimen garden: approx. 2,300㎡, Greenhouse: 85㎡, Woodland: approx. 1,200㎡)
Plant Collection: Over 800 species

Open Days: Weekdays from March to November (excluding public holidays and university holidays)

Opening Hours: 9:30–16:00
*Groups of 19 or fewer: No application required.
*Groups of 20 or more: Prior application required. Please call the contact number below well in advance.
Points to Note
Do not touch or ingest plants without permission.
Please stay on the paths while observing.
Damaging plants or collecting flora and fauna without permission is prohibited.
Please bring your own insect repellent or anti-itch medication if needed.
The tap water in the garden is not potable.
Seeds and seedlings are not distributed to the general public.
Please follow any instructions given by faculty or staff.

Access
By Bus
From JR Omiya Station: From East Exit Bus Stop No. 7, take a bus bound for "Saitama Higashi Eigyosho," "Urawa Higashi High School," "Urawa Gakuin High School," or "Urawa Misono Station West Exit." Ride for approximately 30 minutes and get off at "Shimekiribashi." Walk for about 2 minutes in the direction the bus was traveling.
*Buses are also available from Urawa Misono Station, Higashi-Urawa Station, and Higashi-Kawaguchi Station (services are infrequent).
By Car
Parking available for approximately 10 cars.
Shiba Branch Garden
*Not open to the public: Entry to the Shiba-Kyoritsu Campus for the purpose of visiting the garden is not permitted.
To allow people to become familiar with medicinal plants in a nearby environment, a branch of the Medicinal Plant Garden has been established using the rooftop garden and planting areas on campus. The rooftop garden offers a great view and serves as a place for relaxation on campus.
