Thai Pharmacy Experience

Overview

Objective

To acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to become globally-minded pharmacists and pharmaceutical researchers by learning about the current healthcare environment and pharmaceutical education in the Kingdom of Thailand and broadening their perspectives through comparison with the situation in Japan.

Rationale

To achieve the objective stated above, the program includes a visit to Khon Kaen University Faculty of Pharmacy, tours of Khon Kaen University Hospital and other local healthcare facilities, and interactions with the pharmacists working there. Furthermore, through exchanges and discussions with local pharmacists and residents, participants will deepen their understanding of the differences in clinical practice and pharmaceutical education.

At Khon Kaen University Faculty of Pharmacy, one-third of the students in each academic year undertake practical training at healthcare sites around the world. Additionally, all lectures and practical training are conducted in English, fostering globally-minded pharmacy students and pharmacists.
