November 12, 2022
On Saturday, November 12, the 2022 Department of Pharmacy Graduation Research Presentation was held in the Multipurpose Hall of Building 1 at the Shiba-Kyoritsu Campus, where sixth-year students from the Department of Pharmacy presented the results of their graduation research.
The event was conducted in a poster session format, and posters showcasing the research findings—the culmination of the sixth-year students' hard work—were displayed throughout the venue. Students stood in front of their posters, explained their research to two designated faculty members, and then engaged in a Q&A session to receive feedback. They also explained their work to other faculty members and held discussions about their research.
Sixth-year students in the Department of Pharmacy are assigned to a laboratory in the fall semester of their fourth year and are expected to dedicate most of their time to graduation research, aside from their practical training at hospitals and pharmacies. However, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, which included restrictions on coming to campus, they were often unable to advance their research as they had hoped. Each student devised their own ways to persevere and continue their work. While graduation research is about making new discoveries, results often do not turn out as planned. By dealing with new issues arising from unexpected outcomes, students' problem-solving abilities are sharpened. As this event was an opportunity to present the fruits of their long hours and considerable effort, all the students, despite their nervous expressions, delivered passionate presentations.
