I wanted to meet people with various ways of thinking at university.

That's why I chose the Faculty of Pharmacy at Keio University, which is a comprehensive university.

At university, to get "revenge" for the school festival in high school that left me feeling unfulfilled,

I served as the executive committee chairman for the Shiba-Kyoyaku Festival.

I also joined a bowling club and work a part-time job on days when I don't have classes.

My studies are also demanding, so I lead a very busy life.

I don't mind being this busy. In fact, it makes me feel that my university life is fulfilling.

As of March 2024 (*Some information has been supplemented with details from his third year as of December 2024.)

Medicine has always been and will always be a familiar part of my life.Choosing the Keio Faculty of Pharmacy, a comprehensive university, was a natural choice I didn't have to think twice about.

When I was young, a medical condition was discovered, and I had to take medication every day. Since medicine was such a familiar part of my life, it was natural for me to wonder, "What exactly is medicine?" I knew that if I were to have a career in the future, I wanted it to be related to medicine. I also liked and was good at science and math subjects, especially finding chemistry interesting and fun, so I didn't have much hesitation in choosing to study at a faculty of pharmacy.

Most pharmacy universities in the Tokyo metropolitan area are specialized, single-faculty institutions. However, I wanted to interact with people from various backgrounds at a comprehensive university that has not only a faculty of pharmacy but also many other faculties, such as the Faculty of Letters, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Science and Technology, and the School of Medicine. That's why I chose Keio University. I was also drawn to the Department of Pharmacy, where my studies could lead to the national qualification of a pharmacist, so that is the department I selected.

My high school festival was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.I channeled that sense of unfulfillment into the Shiba-Kyoyaku Festival.

I belong to a student organization called the Shiba Gakuyukai, and I'm involved in organizing events like the welcome party for new Faculty of Pharmacy students, the Urawa Festival (a sports day for new Faculty of Pharmacy students), and the Shiba-Kyoyaku Festival, which is the Faculty of Pharmacy's school festival. The Shiba-Kyoyaku Festival is my main responsibility.

Actually, I was also on the executive committee for my school festival in high school, but it was unfortunately canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I'm the type of person who likes to see things through to the end, and I didn't want to go through my university life with the lingering feeling of unfulfillment from the festival. So, I decided to take on the challenge of organizing a school festival at university as well. In other words, it was my "revenge."

I believe that organizing a school festival is an opportunity to learn a lot. Even with the food stalls in high school, there were lessons you couldn't get in class, like communicating with younger students to get them involved and applying for permits from the fire department and public health center. To be honest, I thought it was a bit of a hassle, but I was convinced that these experiences would definitely be useful in the future. At university, you have to think and act with more responsibility than in high school, including managing budgets and schedules. I've always enjoyed organizing school festivals, and of course, there's fun involved, but what I remember most is how "busy" it was. The reason I keep doing it is because I can feel my horizons expanding through what I'm learning and because of my single-minded desire to "see it through to the end."

As the executive committee chairman for the Shiba-Kyoyaku Festival, I experienced many challenges under a new system. Through this, I identified issues and areas for reflection for next year, but what remains most memorable is that every member of the executive committee was able to enjoy themselves while making the festival a success. During the preparation phase, there were times we struggled with coordinating plans and solving problems, but as we moved forward while involving many people, I truly felt the importance of the team and the power of each individual. I also felt a sense of accomplishment as chairman in being able to create an atmosphere where the entire group worked toward a single goal while consolidating everyone's opinions. Through this experience, I feel I have grown personally, and I want to work on solving the identified issues to make next year's festival even better.

The executive committee is also in charge of making signs and conducting campus tours.

I'm in the bowling club and also work hard at my part-time job.Being busy contributes to a sense of fulfillment in my university life.

As for another extracurricular activity, I belong to the "bowling club" and enjoy bowling. This is the only officially authorized bowling club at Keio University and has a long history of 70 years since its founding. We practice once a week at a bowling alley in Tamachi, and once a month there's a bowling tournament hosted by university students in the Kanto region. It had been my wish since before enrolling to interact not only with students from the Faculty of Pharmacy but also with students from other faculties and other universities, so my activities in the "bowling club" are very important to me.

I'm busy with my studies, extracurricular activities, and a part-time job, but I don't really mind it. However, when I occasionally get a full day off, I truly realize how "wonderful a day off is."

Interacting with people from faculties other than the Faculty of Pharmacy broadens my horizons.I think it's a good idea to aim for the Keio Faculty of Pharmacy to experience the stimulation that comes from meeting new people.

I enrolled in the Keio Faculty of Pharmacy seeking the benefits of a comprehensive university, and thanks to that, I've been able to make friends from outside the Faculty of Pharmacy and from other universities. I can feel my horizons expanding through these interactions, and I'm sure it will be a great reference when choosing my future career path.

The studies are tough. You can't let your guard down. However, when something I've learned in class comes up in daily life, I get a little excited. It makes me feel that what we're learning is closely connected to people's lives.

At the Keio Faculty of Pharmacy, there are many opportunities to meet people with various ways of thinking. I think it's a good idea to aim for the Keio Faculty of Pharmacy and look forward to the stimulation that comes from these encounters.
