Cryptocurrency Research Project Holds its 3rd Session

On Friday, June 11, 2021, the 3rd session, "Designing Token Markets Using Auction Theory," was held online. This time, we invited a professor from the Faculty of Economics to give a lecture on the concepts of auction theory, real estate auctions, and blockchain.

  • Toyotaka Sakai (Professor, Faculty of Economics, Keio University)

First, Professor Jiro Tamura (Professor, Faculty of Law, Keio University) gave the opening remarks, explaining the significance of the Cryptocurrency Research Project and introducing Professor Sakai. Next, Professor Sakai explained auction theory and his initiatives in real estate auctions. He then described the various situations where auction theory is applied and also discussed its compatibility with blockchain. Finally, a Q&A session was held, where questions from the audience were answered.

Through this project, by providing opportunities to hear directly from practitioners with deep knowledge of cryptocurrency as guest speakers, we aim to deepen the understanding of the potential that cryptocurrency brings to society and to promote research and dissemination in the cryptocurrency industry. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all who participated.
