Seiichiro Ichikawa (Professional Tennis Player)

Graduated from Kaisei Junior & Senior High School and the University of Tokyo

Engaged in musical activities since his student days,

had no interest in job hunting,

and continued composing music while working part-time after graduation.

However, while struggling with the idea of making a living in the music world,

he made a further change in direction at age 25 and started tennis as a complete beginner.

He began competing with the goal of becoming a professional.

His actions were understood by no one,

and as he was hopelessly uncoordinated, there was no sign of his talent blooming;

however, he reached the final selection in a talent discovery tryout for the 2014 Tokyo Olympics and was featured in Nikkan Sports.

After nearly 10 years of paying his dues, he began his professional career in 2016,

successfully raised 5 million yen through crowdfunding, and was featured in various local media.

He moved his base of operations overseas in 2020.

A clearly unique presence among elite players around age 20, he became known throughout the tour for an unconventional amount of practice—more than double that of other players.

Despite this, he saw no results at all, but in 2023, he earned a world ranking in doubles, and his media coverage increased.

Appeared on TV Asahi's "Gekirea-san o Tsuretekita,"

and was featured in Bunshun Online, Asahi Shimbun, Forbes, etc.

Gives lectures at elementary schools, companies, etc.

Won three domestic tournaments in the UK in 2026.
